Guide to Scheduling Recurring Posts

Need to publish the same post multiple times without recreating it each time? The Recurring Posts feature in Social News Desk makes it easy to schedule repeating content—ideal for evergreen messages like job postings, live sports coverage, event reminders, or city service updates.

What Is a Recurring Post?

A recurring post is a single post that’s automatically scheduled to publish multiple times on a regular schedule. Instead of copying and pasting your content over and over, you can now set it to repeat at specific intervals—daily, weekly, or monthly.

How to Create a Recurring Post

  1. Compose your post in the Post Composer.
  2. Click the Schedule Post button and select “Make Recurring.”
  3. In the Configure Recurring Post options, choose:
    • Start date and time
    • Recurrence frequency: every X days, weekly on certain days of the week, or monthly on a set date every month
    • Repeat until:
      • Forever
      • End date (select end date)
      • After a number of posts
  4. Click Schedule Recurrence to schedule the series of recurring posts.

Social News Desk will automatically schedule individual posts for each recurrence based on your settings.

Managing Recurring Posts

Each instance of a recurring post is treated as a scheduled post and will appear in:

  • Scheduled Posts
  • Calendar
  • Planner

Recurring posts are marked with a recurrence icon so you can easily identify them.

Editing Recurring Posts

You can make changes to future posts in a recurring series:

  • Open any upcoming instance from Scheduled Posts or Calendar.
  • Click Edit to change the post content or recurrence settings.
  • Changes will apply to future instances from that point forward.

Skipping or Deleting Recurring Posts

You have flexible options for managing individual or entire series of recurring posts:

  • Click the Delete Post button on the post in Scheduled Posts or Calendar. You can also delete a single instance of a recurring post in Planner.
  • A warning will appear:
“Are you sure you would like to delete this recurring scheduled post?”
Do not select “Delete all recurring instances of this post” and click the Delete button.

To delete the full series:

  • Click Delete Post on any future instance in Scheduled Posts or Calendar.
  • A warning will appear:
“Are you sure you would like to delete this recurring scheduled post?”

Click the checkbox to confirm you wish to delete all recurring instances of the post, then click Delete.

Filtering Recurring Posts

You can now filter for Recurring Posts in both the Calendar and Scheduled Posts views to quickly view and manage your repeated content.
