SND On Air is designed to be customizable to match the graphic design of a TV station, livestream or lobby display. In order to quickly get your content to air in a way that looks great, you can create a template to match your on-air look.
To create templates, launch the On Air tool from the left rail, select the Template drop-down and click the Create New Template button. You can also edit, delete or search for a previously created Template.
To the right of the preview screen, you'll find the different elements of your template: Layout, Post Styles, Background, Backplate and Overlays.
Layout and Configuration
First, choose from the following layouts. Some have their own options that can be customized.
- Isolated
- Select 1, 2, 3 or 6 posts
- Waterfall
- Stacked
- Select between 1 to 7 posts
- Align left, center or right
- Width is the lengthwise size of the post
- Lower Third
- Align left, center or right
- Single Post
- Flip between the image or post content
- Cinematic
Then, you can configure the layout's options.
- Margin is the spacing around the outside border of the post containers.
- Gap is the spacing between the post containers.
- Animation is used to set the auto-rotation speed of the playlist, or you can manually control a playlist.
Post Styles
Next, select the Post Style that works best for your graphics package. There are four options to choose from. You can also customize the color of the post background, font and social media icon and select a font option.
For the Cinematic layout, this is where you'll be able to hide the header.
Background
The next step is the Background tab. Here, you'll upload a background or choose an existing background image. Video backgrounds are also supported. Background tips:
- Backgrounds must be 1920x1080 pixels (or 1080x1920 for vertical layouts) - .jpg or .png are accepted, but .png is preferred
- Supported video backgrounds are mp4 or WebM
- Be mindful of sponsor image placement (if including it in the background image) to ensure content will not partially or entirely cover it
- The Green Screen background (default) can be used to key content over talent, video or an existing animation
Backplate
Next, select a Backplate or upload your own. There are 2 default backplate options: transparent or none. This is the design element behind the post.
Overlays
The Overlays tab is optional, and is used to upload sponsor logos or banner ads sourced by your traffic system.
Apply Changes
Once you've styled your template, remember to click the pink Apply Changes button in the bottom right.
