Pause All Scheduled and Automated Posts for Emergencies or Breaking News

In urgent situations like emergencies or breaking news events, newsrooms and government agencies may need to temporarily stop all outgoing social media posts. Social News Desk makes this easy with the Pause All Scheduled and Automated Posts feature.

This feature is only available to Team Admins and will affect all social accounts under the selected team.

What Does “Pause All” Do?

  • Immediately stops all scheduled and automated posts from publishing across the team’s connected social accounts.
  • Displays a banner to all users notifying them that scheduled publishing is paused.
  • Automatically fails any scheduled posts whose time passes while the pause is active.
  • Pauses Autopilot content until resumed.
  • Logs who paused/resumed the schedule in an Audit Log for accountability.

  • Go to Account Settings > Advanced Settings > Details
  • Locate the Pause All Scheduled/Automated Posts switch.

  • Click the switch to enable it.
  • A confirmation modal will appear

What Happens During a Pause?

  • A banner appears for all users assigned to paused social accounts

    • These posts move to Failed Scheduled Posts.
    • They can be edited and rescheduled, or simply dragged to a new time on the Calendar.
  • Error message shown
  • Recurring Posts scheduled during the pause will also fail and follow the same process.
  • Autopilot content will be paused but will resume automatically once the pause is lifted.
